Writing prompt

Some of us get stuck – even seasoned writers, but if you are a budding writer, and if you are interested and can spare 10 minutes, then here are a few writing prompts. Use them all or just one. It’s up to you:

Dripping tap, a forgotten key, the colour yellow, “You’re late again.”

Set your timer. Write a complete scene. It doesn’t need to be perfect.

Goal is motion – not perfection. Write without stopping. Here’s the hard part, no deleting, no correcting, no thinking. If you get stuck, write something like… “I don’t know what happens next but…” and keep going.

Here’s some additional help should you want it:

Drop straight into the action. No set up. No backstory. Something like the key snapped into the lock just as the footsteps reached the landing.

Ending – In the final minute, force a change: a revelation, a new character, a twist, a decision.
