You write because you care about writing and you care about what you write.

I’ve met so many people, heard so many stories that have made me sit up and say WOW. Really! You survived that? How? Genuinely I am in awe. Though of course I never write about them. Their stories are not mine to tell. But what ever you have a gut feeling to write about, then write it!

Trying to decide whether you story idea is a good one or not, is another matter. There is no way of absolutely being sure if the idea is a good one until you try it on for size. Of course, it is said, originality is key, especially if you are trying to sell your story – publishers, agents etc., are generally looking out for fresh ideas that jump off the page. To be frank – being original is hard to do. However, putting a different slant on an age old story is not without merit.

Whatever you do. Please keep writing – and if you’re not happy with it, keep it safely tucked away for another day. It is important, you wrote it after all, so you must have cared about it at some time. If you would like any more information or share please don’t be afraid to drop a note in the message box and I will try to respond asap!  Take care.
